Tales from Down Under performed by Bernadette Nason
Tales from Down Under, presented by Bernadette Nason (https://www.bernadettenason.com/). This presentation was prepared for Martha and Joy Winters at Casa Montessori Austin (https://casa-montessori.org/), who have graciously allowed us to share it with Austin Playhouse's audiences!
In this video, Bernadette will tell two stories!
(a) Wombat Stew is based on an original book by Marcia Vaughan, illustrated by Pamela Lofts (1984): One day, on the banks of a billabong, a dingo catches a wombat and decides to make wombat stew, but other bush animals have a plan to save their friend.
(b) The Singing Snake is a retelling of an Australian folktale, based on the book by Stefan Czernecki/Timothy Rhodes (1993): Old Man is tired of the noisy animals around him so he holds a contest to encourage them to improve their singing. Snake wants to win, but he has a terrible voice. He decides to "borrow" Lark's voice for the contest...with dire consequences!!
