THEATRE FOR YOUTH PROGRAMMING

 

Austin Playhouse's Theatre For Youth program introduces professional theatre to low-income local students, bringing students from Title I schools to Austin Playhouse for daytime and evening performances. Engaging students through professional productions and activities, we challenge our young audience members to think critically and creatively about stories that are relevant to their diverse ethnic, social, and economic experiences. Now in its fifth year, the Theatre for Youth program has introduced over 3,000 students from more than 27 area schools to the professional theatre of Austin Playhouse.
